Israeli NPP-SOL team field visits the Italian case study in Arborea and Monserrato

A field visit to the Italian NPP-SOL case study by the Israeli delegation took place on 8–9 May 2025. The Israeli team was represented by Roy Posmanik (Technion) and Elazar Volk (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), who are Partners of the NPP-SOL project. The visit was coordinated by the Italian team from the University of Cagliari.

The two-day programme began with a meeting in Cagliari, followed by a field visit to Arborea to observe the four experimental bioreactors in action. The participants discussed ongoing research and collaboration opportunities, sharing insights and technical feedback. The field demonstration provided valuable opportunities for mutual learning between the Italian and Israeli teams.

The first day continued with a visit to the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences (University of Cagliari), followed by an in-person demonstration of the FLOWS model and its web version with practical exchanges on its integration and applications.

On the second day, the delegation continued participating in practical sessions, focusing on the FLOWS model and its web version. The day also included open discussions on the project aiming to enhance the integration and application of the model in the studied contexts.

The visit was marked by constructive exchanges, technical engagement, and a renewed commitment to strengthening cross-national collaboration on sustainable water and soil management.
