An information day entitled “Role of Good Agricultural and Water Management Practices for Resilient Rice Cultivation in Gharb–Morocco” was held on 13 November 2025 at the Sidi Allal Tazi, INRA, Experimental Station.
The event brought together around sixty participants representing a wide range of actors involved in the rice sector, including farmers, professionals, extension services, (ONCA and ORMVAG representatives), the Regional Environmental Observatory, University researchers, technicians, and students.
The activity was jointly organized by the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA), through the Regional Center for Agricultural Research of Rabat, in collaboration with Mohammed V University in Rabat, Ibn Tofaïl University in Kenitra, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir.
It was conducted within the framework of the PRIMA-funded projects NPP-SOL and PROMEDRICE, which aim to develop sustainable, water-efficient and environmentally responsible rice production systems.
This event provided a platform for scientific exchange and stakeholder engagement, emphasizing the importance of improved agricultural practices and water management strategies to strengthen the resilience of rice cultivation in the Gharb region.
